Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure for viewing the internal structures of the abdomen and consists of a laparoscope (camera) being inserted in the abdomen through a small incision. This magnifies the internal structures on a monitor, which helps our doctor perform a more thorough examination. Additional small incisions can be made for the use of surgical instruments.
Laparoscopy procedure is commonly used in biopsies and, recently, has been adopted as another method to spaying where it offers up to 65% less pain with minimal recovery times for less trauma in patients. This is usually performed as an outpatient procedure, letting your pet recover at home.
