Dental Care

Dental hygiene is an important aspect of your pet’s general health. If your pet has bad breath, that’s a sign of an unhealthy mouth. This is caused by bacteria, which leads to a buildup of tartar and plaque on your pet’s teeth, and which eventually causes dental disease. As this intensifies, additional signs include:

  • Drooling
  • Eating discomfort
  • Loose or missing teeth
  • Reddened gums

When you bring your pet in for a dental exam, we check their teeth and gums to determine any issues you should know about. From there, we may recommend a more thorough examination (which requires sedation), a dental cleaning or at-home dental care options.

Dental health is very important and should not be taken for granted. The good news is that dental problems can be successfully managed with regular dental checkups, teeth cleanings and proper care at home.
